1ST PRIZE: TRIUMPH THRUXTON 1200 R

BUILT BY WENLEY ANDREWS AND VALUED AT $67,330!

BIKE SPECS

We knew that this would be no ordinary build.  After being lifted onto the workbench of Wenley Andrews, this Triumph Thruxton 1200R has gone through a complete transformation at the hands of the Motorcycle Alchemist.

The list of modifications are long but very clear in their purpose; to build a race inspired Thruxton R café racer that we have been longing for.

This café racer dubbed “Blue Diablo” has been stripped back to its bare essentials and has been brought into this modern era, lighter and faster than we thought possible. This motorcycle rides on rails with the addition of the Diamond Tek 5 carbon fiber wheels from Black Stone Tek, weighing in at less than half the original wheels’ weight. This devil of a bike now breathes fire thanks to its direct inlet, hand built shotgun style exhaust, Tuneboy Engine Control Module and dyno tuned to WMD custom specs… power and torque have been increased and Blue Diablo is on the hunt with its awesome growl!

Thanks to Porsche, Blue Diablo now adorns the same race inspired colour as the Porsche 911 GT3 – Rivera Blue, set against the blacked out engine, components and carbon wheels. This bike certainly commands attention!

With a touch of history added to the build it now adorns the No 5. of Jack Marshall who rode a Triumph to victory in the 1908 Isle of Mann TT, possibly the world’s first purpose built race bike. Jack let his actions do the talking much like Wenley Andrews, builder of the Blue Diablo.

It’s not every day you get a chance to win a Café racer built by the legendary Wenley … but today we dare you to try.

Good luck!

BUILDER BIO: WENLEY ANDREWS – WENLEY MOTO DESIGN

Wenley Andrews is anything but a stranger in the custom motorcycle world. His list of accomplishments is just a brief glimpse into the mind of an individual who is constantly exploring the boundless possibilities of handmade machines. More Motorcycle Alchemist than builder, Wenley has shown time and time again that he has what it takes to tangle with the best in the business.

Cutting his teeth on Triumph builds while working an IT job almost 10 years ago, Wenley now builds bikes full time from his workshop in Mount Kuring-Gai NSW Australia. From Harley Davidson Sportster cafe racers to his ground breaking “retro fighter” Honda CBR, he is no one trick pony. Along with his limitless imagination, Wenley possess the rare ability to bring his ideas into reality. Harnessing the power of computer-aided design and now 3D Printing and Rapid Prototyping, he combines new tech with old-school fabrication techniques to create truly unique masterpieces.

Wenley is a man of few words, and rightly so. From a Good Design Australia Gold Award to multiple features on Pipeburn and BikeEXIF, his work speaks for itself. Understandably, when it was decided that the first Flow Motion Project build was going to be a Triumph, only one phone call was needed.

Nobody perfects a Triumph Modern Classic like Wenley Andrews.
